Calla Lily Centerpiece

Ming Fern Thorn Removal

I'm adding ming fern to this calla bouquet design to add more texture and color variety.  Use wire cutters to snip off excess laterals on the bottom of the stem.

Set these aside to use to compliment corsage and boutonniere designs.

Take care to clean the ming fern stem throughly.  It does have thorns on it's woody stem.  All need to carefully be removed to avoid damage to hands or clothing when handled later.

Place a long piece of ming fern to the back of the design, going about half way up.

You may want to add in other elements, such as lily grass loops for more texture and interest.  Tape the ming fern into place.
