Wedding Reception Centerpiece

A wedding reception centerpiece will be the focal point at each table that your guest dines at. Dramatic contrast of color or unusual containers such as those pictured below will have your guests admiring their beauty.

This design is an example of a "split complementary" harmony of color. A blend of red gerberas with soft pink roses, lavender mini carnations and light purple static are delightful in a red clear vase.

You can use unusual containers, such as this heart tin below. Be SURE to check an see if it is watertight, however. If not, you may have to use a waterproof liner. Otherwise your arrangements may leak on your tabletops creating a mess for your guests to find.

The fabulous crisscrossing of decorative colored wire makes a beautiful design accent.

The different use of texture and different depths creates more of a visual interest. This combination of Gerbera daisies, miniature orange spray roses and berries are flanked by varigated greenery.

Using wicker or bamboo baskets make a very sweet garden effect. Experiment with spraying the baskets with matte colors or whitewashing for a newer look.

You can also find interesting containers by browsing the wood cut section of a craft or hobby store. Fasten a shallow utility container to the wood with florist clay. A cool mix of hanging amaranthus and unusual greens are contrasted with the cool blue of hydranges.
