Wedding Pomander

Easy Directions for Wedding Flowers

This wedding pomander tutorial began with selecting a 3 inch Oasis Netted Sphere and letting it "float soak" in water treated with Crystal Clear flower food. I then created a sturdy handle of braided wire , which I attached to the netted sphere. I covered the ball with dyed Sisal and wrapped with a decorative, contrasting colored wire. I then added three orange Asiatic lilies , still allowing the ball to show as part of the overall design.

I'm now going to create a fun deco design with two colors of Oasis decorative wire.

This wire is so much fun to work with and I'm always looking for new ways to incorporate it into my designs.

With my hands, I simply shaped the wire into a rather funky circular shape.

I dipped the end of the wire into flower glue, which holds firm even in wet Oasis foam.

I inserted it deeply into the ball that has already been wrapped with Sisal and wire.

I keep adding more and more of these geometric shapes, layering them and using the two colors.

I literally created an overlay of these wire designs all over the pomander until the sphere was completely covered.
