Using a wedding invitation kit is a great way to save money. It is a little time consuming, but is a great time saver because you can do it months in advance as long as all of your plans are solid.
Be sure you have a couple of extra ink cartridges on hand for your printer. I would advise you to clean your printer first BEFORE printing your invitations. That way you can be sure your print quality is at it's best. If you don't know how to clean it, check with the manufacturer's website of your printer for directions. E-How has some great basic pointers on cleaning your printer.
The print quality is so good on many home printers now they almost rival the ones printed at a professional print shop. If you want raised print, however, those will have to be done professionally.
