Wedding Decorations

by Alison
(Wisconsin)

We are getting married in the restaurant where the reception will be held. ( Separate area) Any ideas to help make it look like a chapel and not a restaurant?

Alison . . .

You may want to ask the restaurant if any wedding have been held there before and they may have some suggestions for you.

It's hard to plan without actually seeing the restaurant's layout, but I would consider seeing if you could "set aside" an area for the ceremony.

Depending on the number of guests, you should set up a seating area so that all your guests can see you as you exchange your vows.

Perhaps you could rent a free standing arch or a couple of white pillars to "designate" your ceremony area. This would make a lovely background for remembrance photos.

You may want to arrange with your photographer for other guests to take advantage of the lovely backdrop as well for either family photos or group photos with the bride and group.

You could also buy plant stands, etc. to create a ceremony space as well. Boston ferns are relatively cheap but have a big "showy" effect.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I wish you and your husband much happiness in the future!
