Lost Bride trick
by: Anonymous

I actually think it's a hilarious idea. I too am a practical joker. BUT, without getting my "knickers in a knot"- as I'm sure most of your guests would not either- since they likely know your personality....I still would not try to pull this one off. One, because of the logistics as the other girl mentioned in the above comments and Two, because one day you may regret it and wish you had not freaked your man and the in-laws out so badly. He is nervous enough as it is and this really is not the time for a practical joke of this magnitude. Although I'm sure you are loads of fun to be with (and obviously he thinks so too or he would not be marrying you), maybe this joke isn't so practical my dear. I'm 47 and have been to many weddings. Some had tasteful practical jokes at them or should I say, a surprise that was followed by great laughter (something out of character for the couple). It eased some tension because laughter always does that.) Maybe try something along that line. As for the rest of the commenters, loosen up "a little". This girl sounds like she is just trying to make a little fun, maybe even relieve some of her own stress by playing a joke and not making it such a serious, nerve-wracking, bawl-fest. (Believe me some weddings are like that!) Don't get me wrong, it is ok to cry at weddings and show emotion but perhaps this girl is dealing with her's in her own "unique" way??? However, it's not a great idea in my estimation either, but at least she's not planning something worse like a cruel announcement that she and her dad were killed in a car crash on the way to the wedding, and then pops out from behind the altar. Now that would be cruel, tasteless and deserve your nasty comments. Keep it reasonable (but fun) bride-to-be. Be yourself, (the REAL you) but be considerate at the same time, K?

Don't do this out of respect for the people coming!
by: Worst idea ever!

I think first off it is rude to have all your guest sit there waiting for the bride to show up. They are coming to your wedding because they are excited to see get married not to sit there annoyed that the wedding is not starting all so that you can play a stupid trick on them that everyone will think is tacky and tasteless! I'm not even going to this wedding but the though of someone doing this just really pisses me off exorcism after people spent a lot of money and are giving up there personal time to celebrate your wedding day. If you arena attention seeker which you obviously are do something tasteful and ditch this idea before you have to spend the night with a bunch of angry guest and family members who are beyond embarrassed by what you did!

not the best
by: NB

the idea seems cute but acting it out would be horrible. It will be very difficult to conceal a wedding dress under a tux and you would literally have to strip down, which would take a lot of time and may ruin your hair and dress. for the sake of the guests and your own, this idea is horrible. If you want a unique and memorable wedding, add a simple twist-as in decoration or in vow wording-to the traditional wedding, and it will be unique and classy, not ridiculous and embarrassing. Good luck. :)
