Pomander Flower

Easy Directions for DIY to Make Wedding Flowers

The flower for this pomander is an Asiatic lily. They are available in orange, white, pink and yellow. Be sure to pull off any pollen, or they may stain dresses, hands or carpeting.

At the beginning of this pomander tutorial, I soaked the pomander ball in water treated with a fresh flower food. This is important, so to keep the flowers as fresh as possible for a long time. The next step was braiding two colors of Oasis Decorative wire to create a gorgeous braided handle . I then covered the sphere with colorful Oasis Sisal, which created a lovely ball of both color and texture in which to place our flowers.

I'm only adding three of these beautiful flowers to my pomander, since I want the pattern of wire and sisal to show as part of my design.

I cluster the Asiatic flowers close to the top, allowing the bottom to peek out from the front view.

The back is pretty too - but I am still going to do more to this design!
