My Wedding, My Way!

by Emily Ann
(Duncan, OK, USA)

First of all, I'M SO EXCITED! This is my second marriage, but my first wedding. To save money, I'm buying my dresses online. That means mine and my bridesmaids. I'm buying from www.modcloth.com. I'm not wearing a traditional dress. I'm going to wear a short, silver number! The dress I picked out is only $58!!!!! And my bridesmaids is $52! Since we're paying for everything ourselves and still raising our family, we need to save as much money as possible. We're doing a lot ourselves, from food and flowers to the invitations. The most money that we're spending is on the venue. If I hadn't had my heart set on it though, that would have been even cheaper. A wedding to me is more about the two getting married, not about how much you're spending. If spending less money on the wedding means more money for the honeymoon (which is a family vacation really), then we are fine with that! You can find all kinds of cool wedding decorations at Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby. All you have to do is take the time to go visit places like that. We're also using fake flowers. You don't have to worry about when you get them ready because they won't die and you can make the arrangements when you have time and the money to pick the things up. We've gotten a lot done already and the wedding isn't until June! Stick to your gut and take time to look around. It's your special day and it doesn't need to be overly stressful.
