Hi, my name is Shaynee,
our wedding cakes our as follows. There are going to be 4 of them:
1- a chocolate diabetic cake to be made and cut up and wrapped with cling wrap to be later handed out to guests
along with
-2-a white diabetic cake, which is also made, and cut up and wrapped with cling wrap for our guests.
3-is a faux cake that is going to sit on a table. The top of this a bear wedding couple that has the bride bear holding her bouquet in her paws, the groom bear is holding the ring box-the are so cute. There are 5-6 tiers of faux cakes, on the other tiers there are evergreen trees, that you can buy at Christmas time. But I'm scrapping off the white paint off the branches, and painting them a green paint instead. I've collected different kinds of forest animals which are made of a resine material, the along with the trees are glued down to the boxes that are stuffed with Styrofoam blocks. There is a waterfall down the front, which is cutup blue, white, and silver paper in strips, I bought from the bargain store.
This goes down to the lake that is a the bottom of the last faux box stuffed with foam-(forest green or black foam). On the side of the lake there is a teepee or a tent not sure yet which going to use, but thinking more and more to the teepee idea. Building a little campfire, beside the teepee. Have a resign canoe with two bears fishing in it. One is holding the fish, and the other bear is holding the paddle. A friend of ours was going to paint the lake for us, but her and her partner split up, and I don't know where she is anymore. So I need to think of something else for the lake.
4-The 4th cake is a two layered round cake. I have found and bought a hunting couple that goes on the top of the cake. Thinking of putting different kinds of tree branches here with a couple of moose, deer, bear, and some birds, along with a rabbits, things we both go hunting for in the fall. But I'm hoping our wedding is in July, though. This one has a lemon cream cake you can buy from the IGA store, for 10.99. I was going to cut it to the shapes I wanted, because it comes in a long slab.
These are the ideas for a wedding cakes we have decided on.
5th cake we thought of instead of hunting couple cake, was a couple of antique birds ornament, showing to love birds done in glass sitting on a glass tree branch. This was supposed to be a two layered cake also. Then I had glass roses, pink and purple, I bought from the bargain store. These were supposed to go down the left side of the cakes with ivy leaves beside each colored rose. But my fiancee says it was too girly, so I'll use them for another cake sometime. Maybe even our engagement party cake, our wedding social or wedding shower cake.
Other ideas we have had for our wedding is having a pig roast, a turkey done on a outdoor spit, etc.
I have collected different flowers, bullrushes, ivy swag, branches, and leaves for different uses in our wedding. These are all silk flowers, so the will not spoil. I have blue vases for the tables, would like to fill with a couple of bullrush branches(silk flowers)a couple of irises, a couple of tiger lilies, and a white rose. This is for the 8 long tables for our 150 guests. Also would like to collect tree branches from the bush, and sit them in buckets painted brown, and filled with sand. These I would like to collect different small flowers and glue them to the branches, so it looks like cherry trees or flowering crab trees. Also putting small candle or lanterns in the tree branches too. Also I'm thinking of some kind of container or bucket with some tall bullrushes, freesias, irises, and other tall silk flowers I have found.
I've bought three faux leather books, that I'm using for guest book, sign in book, and photo book. All I'm doing scrapbooking and stenciling on to make it our own. I have a small vase that looks like a tree stump with two bears climbing the sides, I have found and bought two pens that have to bears on the top of the pens for the sign in book, and the guest book.
I have found and bought some pixies that are silver so far, but I'm going to glue some blue sparkles on where the dresses are. I found these at the Canadian tire store in their Christmas decorations. I would like to put these so they are hanging from the ceiling of either the tent roof or the hall roof. Along with silk flower garlands, ivy and cascading Christmas lights, and hanging butterflies made of nylons that you can get from the bargain store.
Along with the blue vases filled with silk flowers, bullrushes, I have bought blue small candleholders you put tealights in. Two to 4 for each table. The vases goes in the center of each table and the candleholders are on each side going down each table. Also rose peddles of blue and orange colored peddles.
For the head table I have bowl vases that have large roses or different kind of flowers like a peonies which has been taken apart from the center of the flower. After taking apart, you place the stem that has been cut off the flower, and the leaves. So you only have a stub of a stem, and its close to the flower bloom. You place this in the bottom of the bowl vase-the stub and leaves. Next you add from the bottom of the flower petals , adding until you have the complete flower in the vase. These are gorgeous when they are done. Have for the head table 4 bear candleholders I bought from the florist shop. The are about 2 inches high with bears climbing up the sides of the tree stump -candleholder.
For the sign in table I have a tall-12 inches-blue vase which our going to be filled with tiger lilies, blue roses, pink roses, and white roses. Along with 1 branch of bushrushes in the back of the bases, so it looks like a backdrop for the silk flowers. Also have a wishing well for the presentation box. It was used for someone else's wedding before and I bought it from a garage sale. It needs to be reshingled on the roof, and change the daisy flowers to tiger lilies, and blue roses, with a white rose in the center.
It has white lace and white pearl beads going around the round sides of the base of the wishing well. Not sure if I would like to keep the white lace on it though. Trying to think of something that is outdoorsy forest like, that can go on the base of the wishing well. We also would set up a table where our guests if they bring gifts can put them. So they can have a choice which idea they want to use.
We have the ring pillows, one for my fiance and one for me for our rings. These I bought from the salvation army store. One is white with white lace and the other is an off white material that has small wholes embroidered in the material. I forgot what the material is called, I want to say it is a gingham type of material but not sure if that is right too. I'm stitching butterflies to both of the ring pillows and gluing small tiny blue roses to the sides of the pillows. At present it has white ribbons to tie up the rings, and I was going to get some blue and orange color dye to dip the ribbons into. My fiancee's is going to be orange, cause his flower is the orange tiger lily, and mine is the blue rose-powered blue to a medium color blue rose. But I also love the tiger lily too.
From the Salvation Army I also bought the start of my silk flower bouquets. One is the cascading bouquet, and the other is the toss bouquet. Both were a pure white color. What I have done to make them mine is added blue rose buds, pink rose buds in between the white roses, which are glued into the bouquet. I added orange tiger lily stems with flowers to the outside of the bouquet with ivy stems too. These are also glued into the bouquet, along with glued and sparkled tips to the white roses. The ribbons were all white, and what I've done is changed some , added some blue & gold color ribbons too. Along with the all white roses are, were stems of beaded pearls between the white bud roses.
For my maid of honor and the bridesmaids I'm going to make a smaller bouquets , two tiger lilies, two blue roses, one white roses, and one pink rose, with ivy stems surrounding each flower bouquet, these are going to be tied together with green florest tape and then tied with white, blue, orange and gold ribbon, ribbon and tied with a bow. I'm making butterfly jewelery for my ladies and myself, along with earrings.
The bestman , and ushers are going to wearing a ivy stem with a couple of ivy leaves, a orange tiger lily, a blue rose bud, a pink rose bud, a white rose bud all on top of the ivy leaves base. All tied with green florist tape, tied with smaller ribbons of the blue, orange, white and gold colored ribbons. This is pinned to dress shirt of the guys. This is also done up for my brother whom is going to give me away. Another too my stepfather to his jacket. Something similiar is going for my two mothers.
In remembrances of people that have passed in my fiancee's father, my grandmother, my Nana, my father, and my stepfather, we will be putting on a picture frame a tiger lily and a blue rose.
These are some of the ideas we have thought of for our wedding, besides my fiancee wanting to wear buckskins for him, and a native white dress with beaded design on it for me. But I would like to wear a long white dress for the wedding, which is in the sears catalogue instead.
We have thought of two wedding reception ideas too. One in the backyard, for wedding ceremony, and reception. This way we can change clothes right after the ceremony, and wear our street clothes to play games like horseshoes, ring toss, croquet, etc. Also have a dance tent set up where the reception is.This would be an non-alcohol wedding.
The other idea is getting married in a church, and have the reception in a hall where they can drink, dance, to their hearts content. Having taxi's on call to take our guests home after everything is over.
