How to make a bridal bouquet . . even if you're not a florist! Making hand-tied bouquets can be a little tricky, even for an experienced designer. Here is a simple way to make it a little easier.
This same technique can be used for other flowers. Just remember to use a KNIFE . . .not scissors to cut flower stems. The delicate nature of flower stem cells can be "pinched" shut, therefore making it impossible for a flower to draw water up it's stem.
Either use a good, sharp kitchen knife or a
florist knife
. Tougher stems can be cut with
floral snips
.
The special angle of the blade slices the stems rather than pinches.

Cut the flower stems under water when opening the dry pack, use
nutrients in the water bucket,
and spray the flower heads with a sealant such as
Finishing Touch.
