Heart Shaped Shower Cake
This Australian heart shaped shower cake is a lovely example of intricate work with icing. The delicate scalloped lace and dotted pattern will awe your guests and make you reluctant to cut the cake!
Covered with rolled fondant, you pipe icing extensions, add embroidery details and put a final glory of gum paste flowers on the top.

Although this particular cake is made over a fruit cake in the Australian style, you can substitute your own favorite cake flavor instead.
As shown, this is a two layer cake baked in 9" heart shaped pans. This cake and others similar to it are featured in the older Celebrate! Wedding Cakes Wilton book.
