Florist Scissors
Floral craft supplies should always include a good pair of florist scissors. These are safe for cutting flower stems - whereas regular household scissors are not.
Why? Because regular scissor blades may pinch delicate stems, closing off their ability to pull water up the stalk. Florist scissor blades are constructed to cut as a knife would, without crushing the flower stems.
