Decorations

by LaToya
(Georgia)

My wedding is in one week and I have no idea of how I would like the reception to look! My colors are actually families of colors; all shades of red, brown, green, and ivory, which I think will make a beautiful aray of colors. I know I would like to have some light on the tables but set in a safe way so that children(and adults) won't be at risk for a fire. I also want to do it cost consciously but still have that wow! factor. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks!

My goodness, LaToya . . . you must have nerves of steel! One week to your wedding and you haven't given some thought to your reception decor?

I assume that this is a DIY wedding - otherwise I'm sure you would have already booked a florist. If you have your heart set on some specific flowers, you need to order them ASAP - otherwise their wholesaler may not be able to get in specific flowers. Remember . . . this is following Valentine's Day - which is a big drain on flower markets and wholesalers everywhere.

Have you browsed through the centerpiece galleries yet?

At this late stage, I suggest you keep it simple so not to elevate your stress level right before the wedding.

Here are some easy centerpieces:

Some simple ones:

The orange carnation ones are pretty easy to do - but look fantastic. Pick up the containers at a Dollar Store if you can. Your cost would be pretty low at that point.

These centerpieces (also carnations) come in an awesome array of colors plus are so easy to do!

That way you can have your "wow" factor, easy assembly AND cost effective!

Hope some of these appeal to you.

Many blessings on your wedding day!
