Beach Wedding Centerpiece

Sponsored Links

A beach wedding centerpiece should have the flavor of the ocean incorporated into it. Using colored sand, seashells, starfish, driftwood and more gives a very delightful sense of being on a tropical island!

Tropical Wedding Flowers

Brides tend to favor tropical wedding flowers or other flowers with hot summer colors. Check out my Summer Wedding Flowers for ideas with brightly colored flowers.
I love the thought of using large clear vases where you can arrange a display of sand and shells and THEN top with a spray of flowers!

This interesting beach theme centerpiece above has the same idea . . .but is topped only with masses of purple limonium. It keeps the wispy delicate look of ocean plant life in a stunning wedding centerpiece display.

The vase below isn't topped with flowers - instead a couple of flowers are floating on water. Notice the interesting use of flattened colored marbles in the arrangement - both on the inside of the vase AND on the outside.

Forgive the poor quality of this picture below. I took it at a recent wholesale flower show. The table and the background was cluttered with lots of different flower arrangements . . .but this magnificent arrangement would be a perfect beach wedding centerpiece.

A large spray of white orchids, calla lilies, cybidium sprays and more was designed on top of a clear lomey bowl and placed on top of a clear cylinder vase. The vase had several shell incrusted balls dropped into it . . .it was absolutely beautiful and got many ohhs and ahhs from a huge room of florists who have "seen it all"!!

If you can please THAT crowd . .your guests are sure to be wowed!

Here is a cute idea using the same shell covered ball as a flower girl "basket". It was very sweet and would hold up wonderfully on the beach!!

Here is a closeup of the seashell ball. I think it would also work well for a casual bridesmaid bouquet. Glue flowers on the top and away you go!
